Water is vital for life and a key resource for the industry and agriculture sectors. According to the UN's World Water Development Report of 2018, demand for water worldwide is projected to increase by 1% annually. Due to mankind activity and climate change, water has become scarce in a rising number of regions. The water sector is comprised of state owned firms, bureaus, private contractors and initiatives. These create a complex environment for integrating and promoting innovative policy. R2Pi focuses on implementing improved and effective production, emphasizing reduction, reuse, and recycling, while lowering the carbon footprint of the sector. Israel's water system is explored as a great case study for integrating high-end technologic solutions for minimizing water waste with policy set to encourage change in consumption patterns.
